Block 5

Well, I am so happy to share a little more progress today on the Big Quilt. Block number 5! Now I just have the corners of the top to do. I would have had a little more to share, but I had a nasty run-in with my rotary cutter and had to take a few days off. And that's all I'm going to say about that. I worked on the second half of this block today and got a picture this evening before the sun went down. I didn't take time to lay out the whole quilt. I'll try to do that next time. So, without further ado, here it is:

And because I have only the one picture to share, here are some bonus pictures of our side garden and a couple of pots. We worked on them this past weekend. Maybe I'll post more as the flowers get settled in the other parts of the garden.

Columbine, German Catchfly and Painted Daisy buds
For years, my mom had this pot on her front porch filled with Geraniums

I'm linking up with Freemotion by the River for Linky Tuesday, Freshly Pieced for WIP Wednesday, and Sew Fresh Quilts for Let's Bee Social. Buttons are on the right.

Until next week, keep quilting!

Ouch! I hope you are fully recovered now. Even with the enforced break you are making good progress. I can't wait to see the whole thing laid out. Your side garden is looking very pretty - I love all the dainty flowers against your white wood.

Janine, this block looks beautiful and it is very exciting to think you are getting closer to putting the top together. A Giant sympathy Ouch for you! I hope you will heal up quickly with no permanent damage. I've done that too. Such pretty flowers and a sweet side garden!

Eck. Hope you are healing well. I guess we have all had a run in with a rotary cutter at one time or another. Your block is great! Love your flowers too. I'm especially fond of columbine.

Uurgh! I was just saying the other day that I had so far managed not to cut myself with my rotary cutter...My husband said that was a dangerous thing to say! The block is looking beautiful' the quilt must be getting excitingly close to a finished top! Nice to see some summery looking flowers. Tomorrow is the first day of our winter, so our garden is looking a bit bleak!

Another gorgeous block!! Hope the rotary incident wasn't terribly serious and that you're back to sewing.
